Marcus Rashford addressed the media for the first time as a Barcelona player, choosing composure over conflict when asked about his Manchester United departure.
Speaking during his unveiling, the forward was asked by a Spanish radio host whether he agreed with Gary Lineker’s assertion that “the problem was Man Utd, not Rashford.” Rather than inflame old tensions, Rashford offered a measured response.

“The situation with Man Utd, the club is in a period of change, and they have been for a while,” he said. “I don’t have anything bad to say about Man Utd. It’s been an important part of not only my career but my life.”
Rashford’s move to Barcelona marks a clear reset, both professionally and personally. “This is my next step, my next chapter, and I am fully focussed on trying to improve myself and help the team win trophies,” he added.
Despite speculation over his relationship with former manager Ruben Amorim and reports of a breakdown at Old Trafford, Rashford was keen to show respect.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to play for them but football is the same as life, and not everything goes as simple as you may have thought. I just wish Man Utd the best and hope they are successful in the future.”
