Ansu Fati’s road to redemption suffered a major blow when the forward picked up yet another injury – his second of the season.
Although the forward was initially ruled out for only a month, he is unlikely to return to full fitness at least until early 2025.
This will undoubtedly impact Fati’s bid to re-establish himself as a key player for Barcelona, especially with Ferran Torres now closing in on full fitness.
Barcelona, though, have a bigger problem at hand. As reported by SPORT, Fati’s injury could impact the club’s potential plans in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Barça had been in discussions with Ansu’s representatives, emphasizing that any decision on his future should come from the player himself.
The club were open to facilitating a move if he requested one due to limited playing time. Sevilla and Fenerbahce were even weighing up a January move for the attacker.

Now, with this latest injury, the scenario has changed. Even if he is fit by January, clubs previously interested in signing him have understandable concerns.
Barcelona, meanwhile, will focus on his health, ensuring a stress-free recovery to get him back to peak form.
Coach Hansi Flick had begun to integrate Ansu, granting him minutes against Real Sociedad, and will likely keep him in the squad since a replacement cannot be registered mid-season.
Sevilla had shown the most interest in Fati, with coach Garcia Pimienta, who coached him in Barça’s youth academy, pushing for his arrival.
With this injury, one would expect Ansu Fati’s future will likely stay on hold until June.
