Saturday night was a very special one for FC Barcelona as after over two hours of gruelling fight, they beat arch-rivals Real Madrid 3-2 at Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville to lift the Copa del Rey trophy.
The scenes after the victory were incredible as players released all their adrenaline and tension, setting off celebrations that will be remembered as part of this very young Barça squad.
However, as reported by SPORT, the euphoria and joy were slightly overshadowed by a protocol established by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which left a significant part of the squad frustrated on the La Cartuja pitch.
Indeed, only immediate family members were allowed onto the pitch to celebrate with the players – parents and siblings as the RFEF had issued a very limited number of accreditations.

Some images showed moments of tension, such as Pedri arguing with RFEF protocol staff. “What is a disgrace is that you give 100 accreditations when I have 30 guests,” said the midfield superstar.
Fermin Lopez was also seen trying to contact his relatives in the stands and mediate so that his family could join him on the pitch, facing refusal from RFEF representatives.
Several sources in the dressing room confirmed these issues to the aforementioned publication. Parents and immediate relatives were present on the field, but grandparents and other family members were not allowed.
The players’ complaints also extended to the presence of YouTubers and other invited guests.
This added further frustration, as players felt powerless to have their own loved ones nearby while other figures without direct ties to the team were allowed access. It remains to be seen if the protocol will be adjusted in future finals.
