The exits front couldn’t be any more different however, with dozens of reports concerning the futures of Pep Guardiola’s first-team stars emerging, including direct quotes from within the Etihad Stadium itself.

Following the 47th and 48th day of the summer transfer window, here is everything you need to know to remain up to date with all the latest developments around Manchester City!

Arrivals

Pep Guardiola on Barcelona’s talents including Pedri/Yamal: “They’re too good. They’re not for sale – the president [Joan Laporta] told me. I don’t say that with irony. Barcelona have signed more players from Man City than the other way around…” (AS)

Departures

Manchester City have informed Pep Guardiola that they have not received any offers for Kevin De Bruyne. Pep: “I didn’t speak to him. But the club informed me that we didn’t get any offer. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I hope that he stays…”

“He won the credit to decide his future for himself. What he has done for the club is massive, that’s why he has to decide. The info I have right now is that he’s going to stay…” (Press conference)

Pep Guardiola on Julian Alvarez: “We are not thinking about replacing. I know he said he’s going to think about it, his agent is going to call Txiki, we’re going to see what happens. I know he wants to play in important moments too, but others ones too. We have 18, 19 players…”

“I read that he’s going to think about it. OK, think about it… And after that, he will inform us what he wants to do… Yeah, he played a lot. He wants more? Yeah, it’s fine. So that’s why; think about it. And when he thinks about it, he will inform us…” (Press conference)

Julián Álvarez on Pep Guardiola’s comments: “I didn’t say anything bad, so I have nothing to say. I just said I need to think, as I always do after every season to make balance… I always say I’m comfortable at Manchester City, a great club…” (TV Publica, All About Argentina)

Yan Couto to Borussia Dortmund. Here We Go, confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. The total package will be worth €25 million with add-ons, and the player is expected to travel this week for a medical.

Yan Couto to Borussia Dortmund will be a loan deal with an obligation to buy. The parameters for the defender to join BVB permanently from Manchester City in 2025 ‘should be easy to meet’. (Patrick Berger, X)

Pep Guardiola on Kalvin Phillips: “I don’t know what will happen to him, he knows the situation…” (Press conference)

Pep Guardiola on Ederson: “I only hope for him to stay with me, with us. He’s a person I love, who I want. He’s given us so much, he’s a ‘porteirazo’. I hope he gives us a clear answer as soon as possible. If he has to go… With all the pain in the heart, I’ll understand. But he needs to clarify what he wants as soon as possible, because I would like that, and for us to concentrate and arrive well in the season…” (Fred Caldeira, TNT Sports Brazil)

Discussions over Mahamadou Susoho‘s next steps will take place when Manchester City are back in Manchester, and the club could look to let the 19-year-old go on loan for a year. (Jack Gaughan, MailSport)

PSG will meet with Manchester City after the Olympics to ‘get a better understanding’ of Julian Alvarez’s situation. Atletico Madrid were interested, but will not rush to make a move, believing that any terms will not be financially suitable. City are not pushing for a departure, but the striker has a price tag of between £59 million and £67 million, if he wants to leave. City want Alvarez to stay, but will respect his decision should he wish to depart. (CaughtOffside)

Tottenham were ‘vying’ for Yan Couto, but found themselves rejected by the Brazil international. The 22-year-old only wants to join Borussia Dortmund, knowing that there is an opportunity for him to establish himself, with the Bundesliga club ‘understaffed’ in his position of right-back.
