Even though we are only a few months into the 2024/25 season, FC Barcelona are already planning for the future with targets for the summer transfer window next year already being discussed.
As has already been reported, the Blaugrana seem to be intent on signing a top-level left-winger in the summer, more so with Ansu Fati failing to meet expectations so far this season.
Indeed, Fabrizio Romano affirms that Barcelona will look to sign a new left-winger in the summer transfer window of 2025.
In fact, the Italian journalist goes on to add that higher-ups at the Catalan outfit see Nico Williams of Athletic Club and AC Milan speedster Rafael Leao as the best possible candidates for the position.

Both Nico and Leao are very highly appreciated at Barcelona and it is no secret that their signing was even considered this year.
While a move for Nico did not bear fruit despite serious efforts from the club, the transfer of Leao was never going to be a possibility given the Catalans’ finances and AC Milan’s stance on the Portuguese ace’s future.
But Barça expect things to change for both Nico and Leao in 2025 and should the finances at the club be in a better shape, moves could be made to bring in one of the two speedy left-wingers to Camp Nou.
Leao, for his part, is understood to be interested in the idea of making the switch to Barcelona while Nico, too, has not closed the doors on the move despite having opted to remain at Athletic Club this past summer.
So, Barcelona are expected to bring in a top left-winger in the summer and they are currently internally discussing the names of Leao and Nico as viable candidates.
