Barcelona have been ‘monitoring’ Juventus star for the last year | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have been keeping a close eye on developments surrounding Juventus star Dušan Vlahović for the last year.

That’s according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

Juventus, for their part, are desperate to offload frontman Vlahović before the close of the summer transfer window.

The Serbian has fallen badly out of favour in the Bianconeri’s frontline, with his hefty wage packet therefore considered a major burden.

With just a year remaining on his contract in Turin, Vlahović could even be available for a cut-price fee.

There is currently considered to be something of a shortage of suitors for the goalscorer, with AC Milan and Newcastle United interested, but not to the point of moving forward with a bid.

As alluded to above, though, also on Vlahović’s trail are one of Spanish football’s leading clubs.

As per a report from GdS:

‘Barcelona, who have been monitoring the player over the past year, could also be a possibility.’

Barca are of course known to be on the lookout for a long-term replacement for the aging Robert Lewandowski, with Vlahović, it would appear, considered one potential option.
