After a lot of speculation, FC Barcelona were finally able to register new signing Joan Garcia in La Liga in time for their season opener against RCD Mallorca this evening.
However, confirmation of the registration of Garcia’s fellow summer arrival, Marcus Rashford, is yet to arrive, with time running out fast.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Rashford is still awaiting confirmation on whether he will play against Mallorca this evening at Son Moix.
After weeks of uncertainty, Barcelona aim to register the English forward only hours, or even minutes, before the opening league match against the Balearic side.
The winger will travel with the rest of the squad at 11:20, the time when players and staff will board a flight to Mallorca, despite his registration confirmation yet to arrive.

With Joan Garcia already registered early in the morning, Barcelona have sent all the required documentation and now await La Liga’s approval once the international transfer clearance is received.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick will announce the squad list during the morning, which will reveal his first official call-up of the season.
All of the new signings are expected to be included, but the situations of Gerard Martin and Wojciech Szczesny remain unresolved, with both still not registered at this point and unlikely to be enrolled in time for the evening’s encounter.
Rashford’s potential availability will be a major boost for Barcelona, considering they are without star striker Robert Lewandowski for the trip due to injury.
While Ferran Torres is expected to start as the No. 9, having someone like Rashford ready to step in if needed would be much-needed for Flick & co.
