FC Barcelona have a lot of work to do before the start of the next season as they are looking to strengthen some of the weaker areas of their team in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, the Blaugranes will also be looking to part ways with several of their players, especially those who are not going to be a part of Hansi Flick’s plans for the 2025-26 campaign.

In this regard, one player who is highly likely to leave in the upcoming weeks is the forward Ansu Fati, who had another season with very little prominence, despite returning to Barcelona with very high hopes last year after his loan with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Ansu Fati set to return early from vacation

In fact, he is quite near to leaving the Catalan club again on loan, and this time, the Ligue 1 side AS Monaco is going to be his destination, although several things remain to be finalized between the involved parties before this move can materialize.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the winger is set to return early from his holidays to speed up his departure, as he wants to finalize his loan move as soon as possible for tax benefits.

To enjoy the tax benefits offered by the Principality of Monaco, Fati needs to prove that he resides for at least 183 days per year in its territory, and thus he prefers to be there from this June. If he meets this requirement, he will get to pay 0% tax on his income.

Barcelona yet to arrive at an agreement with Monaco

However, there are several details yet to be agreed between Barcelona and Monaco for his loan. For instance, the Blaugranes want a mandatory purchase option at the end of his loan, while the Ligue 1 side wants only an optional purchase clause.

Similarly, the amount at which this purchase option would be exercised also remains to be finalized, even though a figure of €15 million was previously mentioned.

Lastly, it also remains to be agreed upon who will bear how much expense of Ansu Fati’s salary. At the start of the negotiations, it was believed that Monaco would take up the whole of his salary, but now it seems that Barcelona will have to take 40% of his wages, while the Principality club does not want to pay more than 40%.

Thus, while this operation is relatively advanced, the involved parties still need to finalize the terms of this loan move.
