Ferran Torres is preparing to begin his fifth season at Barcelona with the same enthusiasm as ever. As in previous summers, rumours about potential offers for the former Valencia player continue to circulate.
The latest involves interest from Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, with English media reporting a possible bid close to €50 million.
However, according to SPORT, no official offer has been made by Aston Villa, and Ferran has no interest in considering it.
The 25-year-old attacker is happy at Barcelona, where he scored 19 goals and provided 7 assists last season.
His hunger to compete remains intact, particularly in this campaign where he hopes to seriously challenge Robert Lewandowski for the No. 9 role, a position in which he performed impressively last season.

Speaking recently at his football camp in Foios, Torres said: “I only see myself in Barcelona. I will stay here and fight to earn my place in the team and become an undisputed starter.”
Ferran’s ambition is clear, and new manager Hansi Flick is pleased with his level of commitment. The player has trained intensely over the summer to regain peak fitness after missing the end of last season due to an appendectomy.
Torres will return to Barça training on Sunday in excellent physical condition and ready to make the most of pre-season to prove his worth once again.
The 25-year-old has also been a regular under national coach Luis de la Fuente, who also values his role as a No. 9 given the shortage of natural strikers.
With 21 goals in 49 appearances for La Roja, he is only two goals away from equalling Sergio Ramos and entering the top 10 all-time scorers for the national team.
Whether playing as a winger or as a centre-forward, he finds the back of the net with ease and consistently shows a great attitude, either starting or coming on as a substitute.
The summer transfer window is long, and new offers may arrive, but Flick considers Ferran a key player and not for sale.
