FC Barcelona will face off against Como 1907 in the Joan Gamper Trophy match this Sunday at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
The Blaugrana will go into the traditional curtain-raiser ahead of the new campaign with star striker and ace goalscorer Robert Lewandowski, who is out with a muscle issue.
But there is some good news for the La Liga champions as Ferran Torres has returned to group training, according to journalist Victor Navarro.
The Spanish forward missed Barcelona’s final game of the Asia pre-season tour against Daegu FC due to a muscle overload.
Upon returning to Barcelona, the attacker did not train with the rest of the group on Thursday morning either, leading to reports suggesting that he was a doubt to feature against Como.

However, according to the update from Victor Navarro, Ferran only missed the morning session on Thursday and was back training in the evening session.
The former Manchester City attacker also worked normally with the rest of the squad today, which comes as good news for Barça, especially in light of Lewandowski’s absence.
If nothing changes, Ferran is likely to start as the centre-forward for Barcelona against Como on Sunday, with summer signing Marcus Rashford providing cover.
Ferran enjoyed his best-ever career season in 2024/25, proving himself to be a valuable asset to the team under Hansi Flick.
With Lewandowski’s minutes expected to be managed more carefully this season, the Spaniard is likely to have a bigger role. And a good start in the Gamper Trophy match this weekend could set the tone for the rest of the campaign.
