FC Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Devyne Rensch’s contract situation, according to Diario Sport on Saturday (via Voetbal Primeur). Additionally, two top Premier League clubs are said to be charmed by the Ajax defender as well.
The 21-year-old Rensch has an expiring contract with Ajax. The Amsterdammers would like to extend his contract, but talks have yet to start, it seems.
Barcelona are aware of that and the top Spanish club considers the Oranje international as an interesting option for the defence. There is no question of an offer or contact between club and player. It remains limited to interest for the time being.
Diario Sport describes Rensch as a ‘typical product’ from the Ajax youth, and labelled the development he has made in Amsterdam as ‘formidable’.
“He is a player with good ball handling, very fast and offensively capable.” Rensch is one of the names on the Barcelona shortlist. Marc Pubill, right back of Almeria, is also being watched.
As said, the interest in Rensch is not limited to Spain. According to Diario Sport, two Premier League clubs also have their sights set on him: Tottenham Hotspur and Arne Slot’s Liverpool. In the meantime, Ajax hopes to beat these clubs and quickly negotiate a contract extension with Rensch.
