Barcelona look unlikely to making any first team signings in this winter transfer window, but they have bolstered their options in the youth categories. While there will be no short-term benefit for Hansi Flick’s squad with this approach, there could be long-term gains.
Barcelona have regularly looked to add quality youngsters to their ranks, and they will hope that their latest addition proves to be a valuable player for the first team in the future. It’s Alan Godoy that has joined up with the Catalan giants after a deal was agreed with Segunda side CD Eldense, and he will initially be utilised with the B team, Barca Atletic.
It’s has been confirmed that Godoy has signed for the next 2.5 seasons, which keeps him at the club until 2027. Barcelona have described the 21-year-old as “an agile, fast striker with an eye for goal – although his main position is the attacking front, his characteristics allow him to adapt to any attacking zone.”

Earlier in January, Real Madrid were also very keen on adding Godoy to their Castilla squad, and at one stage, it was taken for granted that he would make the move to the Spanish capital – but instead, he is now at the Catalan capital, and he has even been included in Barca Atletic’s squad to take on Real Sociedad Sanse in the First Federation.
Godoy will hope that he can follow in the footsteps of Pau Victor, who made the jump up from Barca Atletic to the Barcelona first team at the start of the season, and although he has found it tough to add minutes in recent months, he is counted upon by Flick.
It will be interesting to follow Godoy’s progress at Barcelona over the coming months. If he has a good second half of the season with Barca Atletic, he could have chances to make the move to the first team in the summer.
