For some time now, FC Barcelona have been pursuing a deal for Liverpool and Colombia winger Luis Diaz.
With the Catalans eager to reinforce the left flank heading into the new season, the 28-year-old speedster, who played a key role in the Reds’ Premier League triumph, has been identified as the priority target.
However, now, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Barcelona have dropped out of the race to sign Luis Diaz.
This comes after Liverpool rebuffed an approach from the Blaugrana on Wednesday night to discuss the transfer of the Colombian international.

Liverpool made it clear to the La Liga champions that they have no plan to offload the 28-year-old winger, especially after Barça had flirted with a move for him last summer as well.
As such, Barcelona are no longer in the running to sign Diaz as they feel that they will be unable to change Liverpool’s stance on the attacker or place a high enough bid to convince the Reds.
The Catalans have other options on their radar such as Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford while Ademola Lookman of Atalanta is also said to be an option.
As for Diaz, Al-Nassr remain in contention and are prepared to test Liverpool’s resolve with a big offer. But, as things stand, Barcelona seem to be out of the race.
