Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde picked up a hamstring injury in the win against Leganes last night.
Balde sustained the injury in the first half before being replaced by Gerard Martin.
He will undergo medical examinations on Sunday to determine the full extent of his injury. Diario AS claims the young left-back could be ruled out for up to three weeks.
Balde could miss the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and the Champions League semi-final later this month.
He looks certain to miss the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund next week. Barca beat the Germans 4-0 in the first leg.
Hansi Flick stated after the win that Balde’s injury looks worrying. Ronald Araujo was also replaced with an apparent injury, but Flick dismissed concerns about his fitness.
Balde will be a massive miss for the Catalans at the crucial juncture of the season as their quest for the treble is at stake.
The 21-year-old has been enjoying his best run under Flick this season, establishing himself as one of the best left-backs in Europe.
He has grown into an explosive full-back with his raw pace and ball-carrying skills while being robust in the defence.
Martin has shown his quality as Balde’s deputy on several occasions, but the biggest challenge of his career lies ahead.
Jorge Saenz’s own goal helped Barca narrowly beat Leganes 1-0 to extend their lead to seven points over Madrid at the top of La Liga.
The Blaugrana will travel to Dortmund on Tuesday before they face Celta Vigo in a league fixture next weekend.
