Marcus Rashford is one of many attackers Barcelona are tracking closely as the club look to reinforce their ranks in the offensive unit.
It appears the club want to soften the burden on the attacking trio of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha by signing a versatile attacker, who can operate both out wide and in central areas.
Rashford, to that end, fits the bill perfectly, which is why Barcelona have been following his status closely for quite some time now.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has offered a fresh update on Barcelona’s pursuit of Marcus Rashford this summer.
The Italian journalist suggests the deal to sign Rashford won’t happen “today, tomorrow or this week”.

This implies that Barcelona are not thinking about signing Rashford, at least for now. This is hardly surprising as the club have stepped up their efforts to sign another Premier League forward in the form of Luis Diaz.
The Colombian international has emerged as one of Barcelona’s transfer priorities for the coming summer.
Just like Rashford, Diaz is equally versatile forward who can add real depth to the Barcelona frontline while the Liverpool star also has ample experience at the highest level of football.
However, one can expect Barcelona to continue tracking Rashford’s status. The Englishman is expected to be up for sale once he returns to Manchester United in the coming summer.
Coach Hansi Flick has already given his approval for the deal and should Barcelona miss out on Luis Diaz, it won’t be surprising to see the English international emerge as an attractive loan candidate for the club.
