The Barcelona vs Osasuna match, originally scheduled to take place this past weekend, was postponed due to the sudden passing of Barcelona’s first-team doctor, Carles Minarro.
Following the tragic incident, Barcelona requested the postponement out of respect for Minarro, with La Liga and Osasuna agreeing to delay the fixture.
Now, the Spanish football authorities are faced with a difficult decision regarding a new date for the match.
It was reported earlier that the match could get rescheduled to May, but a recent report from Sergio Fernandez suggests La Liga is facing a crucial decision to make.
As per the report, one of the possible reschedule dates being considered is Thursday, March 27.

However, Barcelona are opposed to this option as it would mean playing without key South American players, including Ronald Araujo and Raphinha, who will be on international duty.
Given the importance of the match in the context of Barcelona’s season, the club would prefer the fixture to be played on May 21, between La Liga rounds 37 and 38.
Osasuna, along with several other La Liga clubs, have rejected this proposal.
Their main concern is that it would create an imbalance in the competition, as Barcelona and Osasuna would still have two matches left after round 37, while the rest of the league would only have one.
This could have significant implications, particularly if Osasuna find themselves fighting for European qualification or battling relegation by that stage.
Both La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation are reportedly leaning towards Osasuna’s stance. Hence, it will be interesting to see how this matter transpires in the coming days.
