After celebrating their La Liga title and closing out a successful season, the Barcelona sporting department is set for an important period and must make important decisions over the coming month.

Sporting director Deco is looking at a busy period ahead as he goes about finalising key contract renewals and identifying transfer targets while also offloading players who are not part of the plans.

Ansu Fati, for one, is seen as someone guaranteed to leave while youngsters like Pablo Torre, Hector Fort, and Pau Victor, struggling for minutes, could either be loaned out or sold permanently.

Only Lamine Yamal and Pedri seen as untouchable

In fact, according to SPORT, only Pedri and Lamine Yamal are considered untouchable by Barcelona as things stand.

Two of the best players in the world at the moment, both the Spanish internationals are seen as non-transferable and will not be sold in the summer irrespective of the offers that might arrive.

In fact, Barcelona have already tied Pedri down to a new contract and have also agreed a long-term deal with Lamine which will be announced in July, when he turns 18 years old.

Both have been crucial to Hansi Flick’s plans this season and are in contention for the Ballon d’Or and will remain a big part of the scheme for years to come.

Uncertain futures for some players

The report further states that the futures of players like Ronald Araujo or Fermin Lopez could be up for discussion, depending on concrete interest from other clubs.

Barcelona also expect Frenkie de Jong to sign a new contract soon but if a renewal agreement is not completed by the end of May, the situation would be open again.
