The idea of signing Marcus Rashford on loan ahead of next season was one that sat well for Barcelona, especially given what the player can add to the team for the price he was expected to be available at.
Now, however, the scenario appears to be changing as relayed by SPORT and the Rashford to Barcelona deal is slowly growing more complicated than the Catalans would have liked.
While the player is indeed desperate to sign for Hansi Flick’s side and the club reciprocates the interest, Manchester United are not making a departure for him easy.
Manchester United currently have no interest in loaning Rashford out to any club and would only accept a permanent transfer should an ideal offer arrive.
Considering that manager Ruben Amorim does not have him in his plans, the stance is quite inexplicable.

Barcelona, for their part, are opposed to signing Rashford permanently right now, especially for the £40 million price tag the Red Devils quote. They know he can be a useful addition but do not see the price to be right.
What they are willing to put up at this point is a fee of €5 to 10 million for a one-year loan with an optional purchase clause at the end of the season.
Barcelona are also willing to pay the player’s salary, although after he accepts a reduction in wages from what he is currently earning.
Rashford’s current contract has him earning €10 million net per season but he is willing to take a cut to join the Catalans.
The coming days will thus be critical in deciding what comes of Barcelona’s interest in the player, especially with reports of backup options already popping up.
Should they choose to push for Rashford, the saga could well drag onto the final days of the summer transfer window to put pressure on United to let go of a player they do not have in their plans.
