Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that despite interest from top Premier League clubs, any potential transfer talks for Marc Casado are being firmly dismissed by Barcelona, as the team considers him untouchable.

Casado’s recent rise in Barcelona’s first team has caught the eye of clubs across Europe. After rejecting a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia in the summer transfer window, he is now drawing attention from Premier League giants like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United.

Casado is protected

It must be noted that Barcelona took steps to secure Casado’s future back in June by extending his contract until 2028. This new deal includes a €100 million release clause, a significant figure that signals Barcelona’s intent to keep him.

However, his clause is modest compared to some of his counterparts. For instance, the club’s other rising stars, such as Gavi, Alejandro Balde, and Lamine Yamal, each have release clauses set at a staggering €1 billion.

Another tier includes players like Fermin Lopez, Pau Cubarsi, and Marc Bernal, who have €500 million release clauses. Though Casado’s clause might seem lower, Barcelona have no intention of letting him go.

Flick trusts Casado

Hansi Flick has shown a deep commitment to nurturing Casado’s development, integrating him into the senior squad and positioning him for continued growth. The club is focused on helping him realise his potential, seeing him as part of their long-term project.

For now, any rumours linking Casado with a move to the Premier League are likely to remain just that – rumours.

Barcelona view him as an essential asset, and with his secure contract and significant release clause, they seem determined to keep him in Catalonia.

Casado’s journey at Barcelona has only just begun, but the club’s investment in his future shows just how much faith they have in his abilities and potential.
