The sporting management of FC Barcelona, led by director Deco, is already setting its sights on next season. There will be no signings in this winter transfer window, as the priority is to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

However, the Blaugrana are actively working behind the scenes, planning their squad for the 2025/26 season, with key areas and targets for the summer of 2025 identified.

Special focus on the German market

Now, SPORT reports that Barcelona have a special focus on the German market heading into 2025, with three of their top targets coming from the Bundesliga, all of whom can be signed for free: Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen), Joshua Kimmich, and Alphonso Davies (both Bayern Munich).

All three players will be out of contract on 30th June, at a time when their market value is still very high and will certainly elevate the level of the Barça squad.

Obviously, Barcelona are not the only club monitoring these players, but they do not want to fall behind in the competition.

The financial outlook for the summer transfer window appears more promising than it is for this winter, which gives the Catalans added hopes of landing their targets.

As reported earlier in the week, the player closest to joining Barcelona is Jonathan Tah. The German international centre-back is expected to sign a five-year contract until 2030.

However, the other two potential signings are more complicated.

Kimmich, at 29 years old, has a prestigious reputation across Europe. Premier League clubs have set their sights on him, and Bayern Munich have not yet given up hope of renewing his contract.

Barcelona’s defensive midfield positions are covered with Marc Casado and Marc Bernal, but Flick would be delighted to reunite with a proven player who can play both in the midfield and at right-back.

As for the interest in Davies, Barcelona need to strengthen at left-back as Alejandro Balde has shown inconsistent form, while Gerard Martin has not convinced a great deal.

However, Davies is negotiating a contract renewal with Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are also pushing hard to sign him.
