Barcelona boss Flick provides his take on Carlo Ancelotti touchline fallout | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has spoken out on the heated exchange to have taken place on the sideline during the club’s showdown with Real Madrid.

For those who may have missed it, a major back-and-forth broke out in the respective dugouts, late in last night’s El Clásico.

With visitors Barcelona cruising towards a dominant 4-0 victory, the Blaugrana’s celebrations left their arch rivals less than amused.

The usually mild-mannered Carlo Ancelotti, for one, was spotted looking furious in his technical area, repeatedly pointing towards one member of Hansi Flick’s staff.

Barcelona’s headmaster did his best to ease the tensions, engaging in a lengthy conversation with his Real Madrid counterpart as the clash inched towards a close.

With Ancelotti having still looked less than amused following the full-time whistle, however, the subject of precisely what took place on the Bernabéu touchline was in turn put to Hansi Flick during his post-match press conference.

The German, however, admitted that he himself was ‘not sure’ what sparked the incident:

“I’m not even sure. I spoke with Carlo. It’s normal when you concede a goal.”
