Barcelona boost as transfer target is ‘already preparing a farewell video’ | OneFootball

Barcelona’s long-running pursuit of Athletic Club star Nico Williams appears to be approaching an imminent conclusion.

This comes amid confirmation that the 22-year-old has begun putting together a farewell message to all associated with Athletic.

Wide-man Nico is of course widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out.

The Spanish international has been earmarked as a leading transfer target on the part of a number of headline clubs from across the continent, with Barcelona having long positioned themselves as frontrunners for his signature.

So much so that, if the latest word stemming from Spain on Tuesday is anything to go by, then Nico himself already appears to be aware that his future lies away from San Mamés.

As per a report from journalist Nico Rodríguez of El Chiringuito TV:

‘Athletic are already aware of Nico’s desire (to join Barcelona). The next step is the farewell video, which the player is already preparing with his communications team.’
