Barcelona believe under-fire star could become ‘the best in the world’ in his position | OneFootball

Those behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona are of the opinion that a member of the club’s defensive ranks boasts the ability to establish himself as the very best in the world in his role.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Ronald Araújo as the player in question.

Stopper Araújo has for his part of course endured a difficult time of things in Catalunya’s capital over recent months.

After returning from a long-term spell on the sidelines though injury, the Uruguayan was quickly singled out for heavy criticism on the part of the Barcelona faithful.

This came amid questions over Araújo’s compatibility with the high defensive line implented by new boss Hansi Flick.

Safe to say, however, that if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then such concerns are not shared by those in a position of power at the Camp Nou.

In fact, as per a report from MD:

‘In the sporting department, it’s believed it would be a mistake to open the door to Ronald Araújo (to leave) because if he goes to a club like Liverpool or Inter Milan, he could become the best in the world.’
