Injuries have proven to be a constant nuisance for FC Barcelona to deal with. Even last season, they saw some key players be sidelined during crucial stages of the campaign. Unfortunately, the club even had some players struggling with muscular issues during preseason.
The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, and Dani Olmo all had to deal with some sort of muscular issue or fatigue-related problem. However, at least in their case, there is likely no major chance of a relapse. Marc Bernal’s recovery, on the other hand, is something that the club is a lot more cautious about.

After having suffered an Anterior cruciate ligament injury last year during a game against Rayo Vallecano, Bernal has been fully focused on his recovery. Yet, despite his intensity and energy in training, the club believes that he is not ready to return just yet.
As per Mundo Deportivo, Barça is currently planning for him to return to action against Valencia in September. The match is expected to take place on either the 13th or 14th of September, and that will likely be when Bernal makes his return as well.
After all, the club was cautious with Gavi’s recovery from his own ACL injury, and it paid off. By ensuring a gradual recovery, Barça was able to make sure that there was no chance of a relapse and that the Spaniard could reach a high level again.
Similarly, they wish to be cautious with Bernal, both because of his value to the club and his young age. Since the player is still in a growing stage, it makes sense as to why FC Barcelona is being particularly careful about the 18-year-old midfield gem.
