La Liga champions Barcelona have on Saturday announced a blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that youngster Ibrahim Diarra is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Attacker Diarra is one of a number of youth talents to have been called up to first-team duties in Barcelona across the week to date.
Amid early preparations for the new campaign, Hansi Flick has afforded an opportunity to impress to several of the Blaugrana’s most highly-regarded breakthrough performers.
The aforementioned Diarra, an 18-year-old attacker who generally operates out wide, is one such player to have been called to The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
As alluded to above, however, in an untimely blow for the Malian, his chance to prove himself at senior level has been cut short.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms on Saturday:
‘Barça Atlètic player Ibrahim Diarra has sustained a muscle injury to the rectus femoris in his right leg. He will not travel with the first team on the tour to Japan and South Korea, and his return to the first team activities will depend on the progress of his recovery.’
