Manchester United have been handed a major injury boost as Ayden Heaven looks set to avoid a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Heaven, making his full Premier League debut against Leicester last weekend, had be stretchered off the pitch during the second half after suffering a serious-looking foot injury.

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim said after the 3-0 win over the Foxes that Heaven would continue to be assessed over the coming days to determine the extent of the injury.

Then earlier in the week, the youngster provided his own update after he was spotted after the game wearing a protective boot but walking unaided, which suggested the injury was not as serious as first feared.

Posting on Instagram, he wrote: "Thank you guys for all the support! I have read all your messages, and I'm doing really well and recovering fast."

In a fresh update, The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, has revealed the youngster has been seen at Carrington without a protective boot, also suggesting a return to action after the international break is on the cards.

“Ayden Heaven has been at Carrington without a protective boot,” Whitwell said on the Talk of the Devils podcast. “You just surmise from that, it’s not going to be too long after the international break that he returns hopefully.”

Following the international break Man Utd face Nottingham Forest away from home before the small matter of the Manchester derby at Old Trafford as Amorim seeks to beat Pep Guardiola for a third time this season.

It remains to be seen if Heaven is available for selection for any of those games, but he has already made quite the impression following his move from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

“Ayden’s so relaxed. He seems so relaxed that sometimes he's too relaxed,” Amorim told reporters after the teenager made his Premier League bow against the Gunners. “But I think we have a player there, so now we have to control and to tell him that was just the game, et cetera, et cetera.”
