L’Équipe are reporting that Axel Disasi (25) and Youssouf Fofana (24) are both set to leave AS Monaco during the summer transfer window.

Both have contracts running until the summer of 2025 but are expected to leave this summer. The duo, who made their France international debuts in 2022, and were both selected for the Qatar World Cup, have now garnered international attention, and the club, as well as the players, perceive now as the right time to part ways.

Disasi and Fofana were bought from Stade de Reims and Racing Club de Strasbourg respectively for just €15m. They will depart for much more than that, representing another healthy profit for Les Monégsques, who sold Aurélien Tchouaméni to Real Madrid last summer for €100m and Benoît Badiashile to Chelsea for €40m in January.

The French internationals have seen their salaries increase from €160,000 per month to €220,000 since their arrivals, which reflects appearance-based milestones being reached during their time at the club. Unless they extend their current contracts, which isn’t expected, it is not possible for their wages to increase further.

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United are interested in signing Disasi, who would reportedly cost around €50m.
