Auxerre open talks to sign Bologna’s Oussama El Azzouzi | OneFootball

AJ Auxerre have opened talks to sign Bologna midfielder Oussama El Azzouzi (24), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

El Azzouzi, who was born in the Netherlands but now represents the Morocco national team, joined Bologna for a fee of just over €2m back in 2023. In his first season, he made 20 appearances in all competitions, including 18 appearances in Serie A. In that time, he netted two goals and registered two assists.

However, El Azzouzi featured much less prominently last season, making just three appearances in all competitions, accumulating a mere 25 minutes of playing time. His absence was due to a knee injury suffered at the start of the campaign. Despite returning at the turn of the year, he could not force his way back into the Bologna side.

Auxerre are now in talks to bring the defensive midfielder to Ligue 1 ahead of next season.
