Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid both mounted comebacks as an astonishing Copa del Rey semi-final first leg ended in a 4-4 scoreline.
Scorers: Álvarez 1', Griezmann 6' Llorente 84', Sørloth 90+3'; Pedri 19', Cubarsí 21', Martínez 41' Lewandowski 74'
This thrilling tie got off to a lightning fast start as the in-form Julian Álvarez snuck in at the far post to put Atleti ahead after just one minute.
One became two five minutes later, when Antoine Griezmann hit a right-footed effort from inside the box beyond Wojciech Szczęsny.
But Barcelona weren't ready to lie down, and Pedri netted from 12 yards out after some top quality build-up play from Lamine Yamal and Jules Koundé.
Before you could blink, the Blaugrana were level, after Pau Cubarsí got his head on a corner at the far post for his first for the club.
And before the half-time whistle had even blown, Barça's comeback was seemingly complete at 4-2, as Iñigo Martínez got free of his marker from a corner and headed home beyond Juan Musso.
Into the second half and Atleti thought they'd found an equaliser through Alexander Sørloth, but his attempt was ruled out for offside.
Barça struck again through talisman Robert Lewandowski, the Poland international tapping home from close range after some superb work from Lamine Yamal on the wing created the opportunity.
The tie was far from over though, and Marcos Llorente made it 4-3 as he drilled in a low shot from the edge of the box.
As the game edged into stoppage time, there was one final, incredible twist in the tale as Sørloth bagged his goal after Atleti had outpaced the Barcelona backline to set up an easy finish.
The second leg will be played in Madrid on 16th March.
