Ruben Amorim has laid down the law early doors at Manchester United, and it hasn’t been met with grace by some members of the squad.

Last month, fans were taken aback by the boss’ decision to omit both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from his team to face Manchester City at the Etihad due to the players’ application in training.

Further reports revealed Garnacho’s absence came after he allegedly turned his back on Amorim while receiving instructions on the touchline – prior to his entrance against Viktoria Plzen. Unlike his senior counterpart, he returned to the fold the following game, and while he has yet to start since the incident, he has made five appearances off the bench.

The Argentine international is now enduring his longest run without being named in the starting XI (when fit), as last Sunday’s trip to Anfield extended his unwanted streak to seven matches. Whether he’ll be restored to Amorim’s attack when United lock horns with Arsenal this weekend remains to be seen.

Why Garnacho could soon part ways with United

Behind the scenes, Garnacho is said to be growing ‘frustrated’ with his situation since Amorim took the reins, having grown accustomed to playing an integral role week in, week out.

TBR Football claims the 20-year-old is ‘open’ to leaving United amid rumoured interest from Atletico Madrid, whose academy he left to join Carrington in 2020. While INEOS chiefs are not looking to actively push him out the door, they won’t stand in his way if that’s what he desires.

Times Sport has also disclosed another club ‘keeping tabs’ on the youngster’s precarious position: Paris Saint-Germain. United believe they can earn upwards of £50 million through the sale of Garnacho, though the Ligue 1 giants are yet to materialise their interest by making a formal approach or bid.
