Mikel Arteta believes his squad has what it takes to overturn the gap to league leaders Liverpool.
The Gunners currently sit nine points behind Liverpool and in fourth place, but having been the league leaders for much of the season during the 2022/23 campaign but come up short, Arteta knows winning the title is still doable.
“We’ve been there and to sustain it for ten months is extremely difficult,” he said.
“Everything has to go your way and when you think you have it, suddenly one day it collapses.
“It can be through a result, it can be through injuries, it can be from other kinds of decisions. It can happen in any moment.
“We have to be ready for that but again, it’s something that we don’t control. All we can control is what we do and do our very best.
“I really believe in my team.”
Man City’s surprisingly poor run of form of late has seen them slip to eight points behind Liverpool but Arteta is not writing off his former club either.
“Even with those injuries, they deserved to win every game, it’s simple,” he said.
“You look at the stats in everything that they do and they’re always better than the opposition. They deserved to win.
“This is football. You deserve to win it but you don’t so it’s for a reason.”
