Arsenal may revisit a move for Benjamin Sesko next summer, having already done a lot of groundwork for the move, according to a report.

Charles Watts reports for the Daily Briefing that he believes there’s a chance Arsenal will revisit a move for Benjamin Sesko in the future, perhaps even next summer.

Arsenal were disappointed after Sesko decided to remain with RB Leipzig and extend his contract over the summer, but it doesn’t appear to have burned any bridges between the two parties. The relationship there seemingly remains intact.

Watts reports that Arsenal do still want to sign a striker, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Sesko is towards the top of their list at the end of the season.

Sesko is still a name on people’s lips because of the start he’s made to the new campaign, scoring six goals and assisting a further three in nine club matches.

The striker has also scored four goals in two matches for Slovenia on international duty, putting him in double figures for goalscoring with club and country at this early stage.

What’s more, Sesko’s three Champions League goals came against Atletico Madrid and Juventus, two top European clubs. Leipzig have only scored three goals in the competition so far this season.

Reports over the summer suggested that Sesko’s new deal with Leipzig didn’t contain an official release clause, but that he does have a verbal agreement that he can leave next summer if a club is willing to pay a fee of up to €75m (£62.9m).

If he can keep up his current form, Arsenal may view Sesko as value for money at that price.
