Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling could be left as Arsenal’s only fit forwards
Kai Havertz is being assessed by Arsenal after handing them an injury scare during their warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
Havertz is believed to have picked up the issue, which is thought to be muscular, during a training session on Monday.
Arsenal trained on Tuesday before flying home from Dubai later that day and Havertz will be assessed over the coming days before Saturday’s trip to Leicester.
Manager Mikel Arteta is due to hold a press conference on Friday morning ahead of that game and an update on Havertz’s fitness is expected then.
The German being out for a period of time would be a hammer blow for Arsenal, who have been hit hard by injuries in attack.
Gabriel Jesus is out for the season with a knee injury and Bukayo Saka is not due back until next month at the earliest after undergoing hamstring surgery in December.
Gabriel Martinelli is also reportedly set to be absent for at least a month after injuring his hamstring in last week’s defeat at Newcastle.
Havertz being out would leave Arsenal with just three fit forwards in Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling.
Arsenal tried to bring in a forward during the January transfer window, with Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins a target.
A deal could not be struck, though, and the club were unable to bring in any attacking reinforcements before the transfer window shut last week.
Arsenal have been away over the weekend for a six-day training camp in Dubai ahead of returning to action this weekend.
