Mikel Arteta has stressed that it is too early to tell how long Kai Havertz will be sidelined for with his knee injury.
The Germany international is set for a spell out but it is unclear as of yet how severe the injury is.
“We don’t really know the extent of it,” he said. “We need a bit more time and some more tests and after that we will have some more clarity.
“I prefer not to talk about the specifics but he is not fit. We need to explore this situation a bit further and decide what we are going to do.”
Christian Norgaard is also set to miss out against Leeds on Saturday having been absent from the opening game win over Manchester United with an injury. It is not expected to keep him out for much longer, however.
Ben White, meanwhile, is a doubt to be included against his former club.
Arteta also says he is managing the workload of Jurrien Timber, who came on as a second-half substitute last week.
“With Jurrien, we have to manage his load because he has been out for a long time again. We have to manage his load and have decided to take his training down.”
