Arsenal have loan bid for Chloe Kelly 'accepted' by Manchester City | OneFootball

Arsenal have had a loan bid accepted by Manchester City for Chloe Kelly on Women's Super League deadline day.

The 27-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a move across Manchester to United, who are reportedly still in the hunt, but it is Arsenal who are in pole position as things stand.

Kelly has already turned down a move to Brighton amid an intention to not move too far from her family, but she started her career with the Gunners, which could sway things.

The England international's contract at City expires in four months, and she has played just 165 minutes this season in the WSL, with her relationship with the club at breaking point.

Kelly took to Instagram to publicly state how "disappointed" she is about the whole situation.

"A key lesson I have learned in my life is that, while I can't control someone's negative behaviour towards me, I can control how long I am prepared to tolerate it. From day one, I've felt so much love from my team-mates and the fans.

"With my contract expiring in June, I've accepted my future is not at this club beyond then. With the Euros fast approaching, this summer is a huge one and I want to be in a position to give it my best shot to represent my country."

Kelly is still part of Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses squad, but her club future is still to be decided with just hours left on the clock.
