Arsenal will face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals after comfortably defeating PSV Eindhoven in the previous round.
Madrid edged out Atletico Madrid on penalties in the last-16, and they will fancy their chances of winning the title for the 16th time.
Arsenal will need to be at their best to overcome the challenge, but they are capable of progressing to the semi-finals.
Arsenal must be mentally and physically prepared to beat the most successful club in Europe.
Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry believes confidence and a strong mentality are key.
He told CBS Sports: “I’ve been in that situation with a team with a tiny bit less talent. I will be honest when we drew Madrid everyone laughed, especially in Spain.
“If you arrive in front of Madrid thinking ‘let’s see what’s going to happen’, you might as well not go.
“I do believe that you go into a game believing you can win – this is what dreams are made of this is what you are thinking of.
Arsenal must be solid against Madrid’s attacking trio of Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo.
Madrid’s attack is lethal and will test Arsenal’s backline. Fortunately, Arsenal’s defence is one of the best in Europe, with David Raya playing a crucial role.
Set pieces will also be vital for Arsenal. Madrid have shown weakness in defending set pieces, and Mikel Arteta’s side must take advantage.
Arsenal have been efficient from set pieces this season, with their corner routines being particularly difficult to defend.
The Gunners must secure a first-leg win. Going to the Santiago Bernabeu with a positive result will boost their chances of progressing.
Arsenal were the first English team to beat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in 2006, thanks to a Henry goal.
Arteta’s team will hope to draw inspiration from that historic win as they look to reach the semi-finals.
