Arsenal expressing keen interest in signature of key Barcelona star | OneFootball

Premier League giants Arsenal have set their sights on the summer signing of a leading member of the defensive ranks at Barcelona.

That’s according to Barca transfer insider Gerard Romero of Jijantes, who points towards Jules Koundé as the player in question.

Koundé, for his part, is fresh off something of an up-and-down campaign in Catalunya’s capital.

After struggling for form in alarming fashion over the season’s early months, the 2nd-half of the term saw the France international establish himself as one of Barcelona’s most consistent performers.

This came as Koundé began to look increasingly comfortable in his role at right-back, rather than at the heart of defence.

And such exploits on the part of the former Sevilla man, it would appear, did not go at all unnoticed at another of the continent’s leading clubs.

As per the aforementioned Gerard Romero, speaking on his official Twitch account, Arsenal are very keen on a summer deal for Koundé.

The Gunners are eager to add ever further to what is an already talent-packed backline under the watch of boss Mikel Arteta, with Koundé’s versatility making him a prime target.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have made clear that their star stopper’s sale will only be sanctioned in the case of a big-money offer landing on the Camp Nou desks.
