Arsenal and PSG have both been boosted by the return of key players from injury ahead of the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.
Ousmane Dembele was a doubt heading into Wednesday night’s fixture at the Parc des Princes after limping off in the 70th minute of the first leg. He scored the only goal of the game in the third minute to hand the Parisians victory at the Emirates Stadium.
The France international missed Saturday’s defeat to Strasbourg, but has seemingly shrugged off a hamstring issue as he trained with the squad on Tuesday.
PSG head coach Luis Enrique confirmed that the 27-year-old, who has registered 32 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season, will be involved in the tie. “Dembele has been training for the last two days. He is available tomorrow,” he said.
Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi welcomed the return of Dembele ahead of facing Arsenal. “He is the type of player who makes you want to go to the stadium to watch because he is a genius on the ball, even if he doesn’t have many chances,” he said.
“He can change the course of the game so we are delighted to have him back in the team.”
Meanwhile, Jurrien Timber has returned to training to give Mikel Arteta’s backline a timely boost. The defender picked up an injury in the first leg against PSG, causing him to miss Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth at home.
Martin Odegaard was also involved in training, assuaging fears the captain had sustained an injury after he was seen limping at the weekend.
Jorginho remains sidelined by a rib injury and Kai Havertz is yet to return to training, while Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu have all been ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
If Arsenal beat PSG they will face either Barcelona or Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Munich on 31 May.
