Today we say cheerio or should I say Arrivederci to Nicolas Kuhn who made his move to Italian side Como official for a fee believed to be around £17 million…

It goes without saying that we will miss the early 2024/25 season Nicolas more than the end of season one, but we will undoubtedly miss a player who contributed greatly to our success these past 18 months, especially in that middle six months when we was in electric form.

Nicolas signed for a fee around £3 million from Rapid Wien in January 2024, and despite a sticky start came good after a sensational start to the 2024/25 campaign in which at times he was simply unplayable as we won the Scottish Premiership and the Premier Sports League Cup.

Nicolas was shortlisted as player of the year due to his good form and on his day he was simply sensational, especially on the biggest stage of all in the UEFA Champions league which in turn caught the attention of clubs throughout the continent.

Nicolas made a total of 69 appearances for the club scoring 24 times and registering 18 assists which is an impressive ratio and one we are going to sorely miss. But he wanted away and his agent was able to produce a deal that was satisfactory to Celtic price-wise so he got his wishes and sets off on his Italian adventure with everyone at Celtic’s good wishes.

It was inevitable that Nicolas time as a Celtic player was coming to an end as he was clearly harbouring ambitions to test himself elsewhere, so we had no other option than to cash in, and in doing so made a very good profit. Celtic has been good for Nicolas Kuhn and the 25 year-old German has certainly been good for Celtic on and off the park as the PLC’s bank balance crashes through the £100m mark.

All the best Nicolas. It was short but incredibly sweet and we’ll never forget those magical moments that you delivered.
