Playing in the friendly confines of Anfield with a one-goal cushion, Liverpool appear to be well on their way to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

When you add to that the fact that they boast a 100% record at home in the competition this season, while manager Arne Slot is unbeaten against French clubs, it feels as though the Reds are on course to securing a place in the last eight.

While simply avoiding defeat is all they require to get past Paris Saint-Germain, another victory for their Dutch boss would see him achieve something no one in England has ever done before.

In Champions League history no manager of an English side has ever won their first five home fixtures in this tournament. Slot can be the first to do that in leg two of their Round of 16 clash with PSG at Anfield.

Liverpool won all four of their League Phase home matches in the competition by a combined margin of 10-1. That only goal conceded came against French side Lille OSC on matchday seven.

The last time the Reds played a Round of 16 match at Anfield was in February 2023 when they squandered an early 2-0 lead to Real Madrid, losing 5-2 with Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema notching a brace on the day.

Slot’s men have won seven consecutive matches across all competitions at Anfield, dropping points in only one home fixture all year (2-2 draw versus Manchester United).
