Another key Barcelona star agrees contract renewal | OneFootball

A headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has agreed on the terms of a contract extension with the club.

That’s according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who points towards Jules Koundé as the player in question.

Defender Koundé is for his part of course fresh off playing a starring for Barcelona across the 2024/25 campaign.

One of the first names on the team sheet of boss Hansi Flick, the Frenchman racked up 53 appearances across all competitions.

Not only that, but, along the way, Koundé chipped in with four goals and a hefty eight assists.

Those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, in turn, recently moved to open negotiations with the player and his entourage, over the terms of a new contract.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, such talks look set to bear imminent fruit.

As per a report from the reliable Ben Jacobs:

‘Understand Jules Kounde has verbally agreed to a new Barcelona contract. Kounde wants to stay and this has been made clear to Hansi Flick. All parties are now confident of reaching a full agreement in the coming weeks.’
