After a very good 2024-25 season, the FC Barcelona players are currently enjoying their holidays to relax and recharge their batteries ahead of another highly demanding season in which they will be competing for all the big trophies.
The players are set to end their holidays and return to train for the next season under Hansi Flick on 13th July. However, some players are set to return before this date, as they want to get in their best physical condition for the preseason.
The Uruguayan defender suffered a hamstring injury last year, and although he returned to action midway through the last season, he was still unable to showcase his characteristic power and strength.
Thus, he is looking to regain his physical prowess before beginning the preseason, where he would definitely be looking to impress Flick to get a starting spot for the next season.
Similarly, Marc Bernal also suffered an ACL tear at the start of the last season, which kept him out for the entire season. Now, he has recovered enough to start training, and he will be looking to take advantage of the next few days to regain his sharpness.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo reports that another defender, Andreas Christensen, is now also looking to return from his holidays early. Like the previously mentioned two players, the Dane also spent the last season unable to play a lot due to injuries, playing only 6 games in total.
The upcoming season will coincide with the last year of his contract with Barcelona, and he is looking to improve his own and his team’s performance by returning early to work.
In addition to these first team players, two youngsters, Dani Rodriguez and Ibrahim Diarra, have also returned early to work, as the former is working to recover from his injury, while the latter is also looking to get back to his best level before the preseason under Hansi Flick.
