Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti sent a crystal clear message to his squad regarding their upcoming showdown with Arsenal during training today.

That’s according to COPE, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at Valdebebas.

Real Madrid are of course currently in the thick of preparations for a potentially season-defining outing on Wednesday night.

After being put to the sword by three goals to nil in north London last week, Los Blancos will welcome Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to Spain’s capital, for the return leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs.

Another rip-roaring ‘remontada’ will be required, if Real have any real hopes of keeping alive their bid to retain the club’s continental crown.

And one individual who has evidently not at all given up hope of as much comes in the form of the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.

As per a report from COPE, Los Merengues’ headmaster pulled his squad to one side during training on Monday, to lay out an unerring message:

‘Ancelotti scolded his players, urging them to commit and make an extra effort against Arsenal. He was very energetic in this conversation and even raised his voice to the squad.’
