Andy Diouf (22) had seemingly been nearing a move to Burnley, however, L’Équipe understands that the deal risks falling through.
RMC Sport first revealed that the France youth international was nearing a move to the newly promoted Premier League side. However, L’Équipe then revealed the player’s preference for a move to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
However, the Clarets, unlike Crystal Palace, have an agreement in place with Les Sang et Or for a transfer worth €18m. This agreement, coupled with progress in talks with the player, left Burnley confident of concluding the deal 24 hours ago.
Pessimism has since returned. Diouf is yet to give the green light to the move to Turf Moor. Burnley are not wanting to wait forever and are looking to quickly conclude the deal. This form of ultimatum has not gone down well with the player’s entourage, and the deal now risks falling through.
