Anderlecht have rejected a bid from Qatar for Kasper Dolberg, according to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri. The former Ajax player is reportedly open to a move away from Belgium, and his club are receptive to higher offers.
Dolberg has scored 43 goals in 93 matches since his arrival in 2022. However, his future in Belgium remains uncertain. The striker has been linked with a departure for some time, and Anderlecht have already secured a potential successor in Adriano Bertaccini.
The latter cost approximately five million euros, the same amount paid for Dolberg. Luis Vazquez is also still an option for manager Besnik Hasi, which could create something of a “luxury problem”.
Hasi has previously stated that he doesn’t intend to play with two centre forwards. This makes Dolberg the most logical candidate for a transfer, especially given Anderlecht’s financial resources.
While a bid from Qatar could have offered a way out for both the purple and white and Dolberg, it was immediately rejected in Belgium. Neither the club nor the player are reportedly receptive to the offer. Dolberg still feels comfortable at Anderlecht, but is open to a departure if the right terms are met.
The striker was also closely linked with a return to Ajax this summer. To make that happen, Ajax will first need to raise some money. The sale of Brian Brobbey could help with that.
