Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has decided Marcus Rashford needs to leave in the push to engineer a shift in culture throughout the club, according to the Guardian.

Rashford has been marginalised and put up for sale ahead of the January transfer window, with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe ready to immediately cut his losses on him if there are suitors next month.

Rashford was left out of the Man United squad that faced Manchester City yesterday, and the feeling at the club is that his time is up.

United are ready to approve a cut-price offer for the 27-year-old when the transfer window opens.

Man United believe standards have been allowed to decline since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, and they are ready to make tough decisions.

Rashford has struggled to turn a new leaf following several cases of indiscipline, and it appears the new boss and Ratcliffe have had enough.

His attitude and lifestyle have not helped, and letting him go would be in the best interest of both parties.

However, his huge wages could prove to be a stumbling block for suitors in January and even in the summer.

Rashford earns more than £300,000 per week at Man United, and there are very few clubs in Europe that will be willing to meet those demands given his current form.

The Red Devils want him out, but it could prove tricky if the player is unwilling to move.

Dropping Rashford and Garnacho yesterday sent a message to other players, and selling the former in January will serve as a serious warning that such an attitude can no longer be tolerated.

Amorim has shown he is not afraid to make the changes the Red Devils badly need, regardless of what the fans think, and more ruthless decisions are expected at the club.
