Manchester United talent Amad Diallo speaks Italian with Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee at Old Trafford, where he plays a role he already covered at Atalanta under Gian Piero Gasperini.

The 22-year-old is getting regular playing time under new Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim, having already made four appearances under the new Red Devils’ boss.

Diallo, a product of the Atalanta academy, recently spoke about his time at Manchester United during an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

He started by revealing what his teammate Bruno Fernandes told him after a 4-0 win against Everton at the start of December.

“He told me some things to improve during games and asked me to be more focused towards the end of the game because that’s when you see the champions,” Diallo revealed.

“I am so happy to have Bruno as my teammate here. He speaks Italian, so we have a special bond.”

Bruno is a former Novara, Udinese and Sampdoria midfielder. Another familiar face to Serie A fan, Zirkzee, shares the dressing room with Diallo and speaks Italian with him.

“Yeah, once in a while, we speak Italian,” said the ex-Atalanta talent.

“He’s a good and humble lad who always wants to learn and help on and off the pitch. We are happy he’s part of the team.”

Amorim was appointed to replace Erik ten Hag in November and has deployed Diallo in a familiar position.

“We try to follow the coach’s philosophy. He speaks to the players; he was a footballer himself, so he understands our feelings, and we are happy to have him,” said the 22-year-old.

“I always try to repay the coach’s trust. We’ve been on good terms since he arrived. He’s always tried to help me, especially because I am playing a new role. It’s a position I already covered at Atalanta under Gasperini, but it was more towards the middle. This wing-back position is kind of new to me. I try to do it and the coach is helping me. I am enjoying every moment.”
