Kosta Runjaic has confirmed that former Arsenal, Barcelona and Inter winger Alexis Sanchez ‘needs a bit more time’ before making his long-awaited second debut for Udinese, but has revealed that the 35-year-old should be in contention by January.
Alexis returned to Udinese on a free transfer over the summer, following the expiry of his one-year deal with Inter.
However, he was diagnosed with myofascial pain in his leg in August, less than a fortnight after officially re-signing for Udinese, and is yet to make a competitive appearance this season.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Udinese’s upcoming visit from Genoa in Serie A, Runjaic revealed that Alexis should be able to make his first appearance this season in January.
“He still needs a little bit more time, if everything goes well, we should see him in January at the latest. We have been patient, so a couple more weeks does not change much for us.
“We want to have him back and we will give him the time he needs. He’s a great player and we can’t wait to have him available again.”
