Last week, we pitted our special guest – Paul Smith from Maxïmo Park – against an AI to see who could most accurately predict the results of Premier League matchday 5.

Paul was on fire, correctly predicting Southampton’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich and Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Brentford, while also predicting four correct results across the weekend.

The AI, meanwhile, also correctly called the 1-1 draw at St Mary’s, plus Leicester’s 1-1 draw with Everton, along with three correct results.

That leaves the scores (three points for a correct score and one point for a correct result) at 47-45 in the human race’s favour after five rounds of games this season.

Let’s see if this week’s special guest, Lou Cotterill from indie band Cassia, can hold onto that lead.

Our AI is powered by Maik mit AI. Check out their website here.

Watch the video to find out what Lou and Maik mit AI went for in the three biggest matches of the weekend; Newcastle v Manchester City, Chelsea v Brighton and the Super Sunday clash between Manchester United and Tottenham.
