AI has ranked each League Two side's home atmosphere at the conclusion of the season

The 2024/25 League Two season recently reached its conclusion after yet another season of drama and excitement.

Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale, Bradford City and AFC Wimbledon supporters have all been basking in the glory of promotion in recent weeks, with all four sides eventually taking advantage of one of the most bizarre promotion races for many a year, which saw Walsall, in particular, surrender a 15-point lead in the second-half of the season.

However, both Carlisle United and Morecambe's official time in the EFL will conclude on June 30th, with the two North West sides enduring disastrous campaigns - especially the Cumbrians, who suffered back-to-back relegations after dropping down from League One last term, as they prepare for non-league football for the first time since 2004/05.

Regardless, there has been a vast mix of sizes when it comes to stadium capacities, fanbases and club stature, which has, in many ways, boosted the spotlight on the fourth tier in the past 12 months.

With that being said, FLW asked ChatGPT to rank each of the 24 clubs' home atmospheres from best to worst with a score out of 10, and here are the results.

24 Hayes Lane (2.5/10)

Kickstarting this list is Hayes Lane, with the home of Bromley being given a 2.5/10 rating by AI.

With a capacity of 5,000 - the joint-smallest in the division - and an average attendance of 3,111, the reasoning behind the Ravens' supporters being bottom of the pile is that the club are still looking to grow their fanbase after a respectable first-ever season in the EFL as Andy Woodman's side finished 11th, just four points outside the play-offs.

23 Wham Stadium (3/10)

Accrington Stanley's ground, the Wham Stadium, is the first of three stadiums to be given a 3/10 rating by AI.

The East Lancashire outfit's ground holds 5,450 but averaged the lowest attendance across the 23 games it played host to, with a total of just 2,256.

Therefore, it may not come as a surprise as to why the Reds' home support has been given such a low rating.

22 Mazuma Stadium (3/10)

Morecambe supporters haven't been given much reason to be cheerful in recent times, with the Shrimpers embroiled in a long-standing takeover saga which is still yet to be completed.

On the pitch, the club has suffered two relegations in three seasons, with their plight from League One back to non-league for the first time in 18 years the key reason behind AI's extremely low score.

21 EnviroVent Stadium (3/10)

The EnviroVent Stadium is, along with the aforementioned Hayes Lane, the smallest stadium in the EFL, with Harrogate Town fans not known for generating a particularly raucous atmosphere in North Yorkshire.

The Sulphurites have now become an established fourth-tier side since their promotion in 2020, but averaged the third-lowest attendance in the division last season with a figure of just 2,968.

20 Peninsula Stadium (3.5/10)

Salford City's fanbase at the Peninsula Stadium has remained extremely small, despite the well-documented backing and ambitions at the club, which recently saw David Beckham and Gary Neville lead a consortium to an £11.3-£15m takeover.

The Ammies hope to reach the Championship in the next five years, and if such a feat was to be achieved, the atmosphere in Greater Manchester would reach fever pitch compared to current standards, with AI grading it at 3/10 at present.

19 Stadium MK (4/10)

Stadium MK is, by far, the biggest stadium in League Two, but also one of the quietest as MK Dons' 30,500-capacity ground only averaged a gate of 7,025 across the season.

For most grounds, it would be an extremely commendable average gate, but the high number of empty seats makes it nigh on impossible for home supporters to generate an intimidating atmosphere, which has been noted by AI.

18 Highbury (5/10)

Fleetwood Town supporters are the first club to be awarded a 5/10 score by AI.

The Cod Army can produce a strong atmosphere, with an average attendance of 2,995 in the 5,327-capacity stadium over the course of the campaign. This score could be improved next season if the Lancashire side are to push for promotion, with sell-out crowds previously a regular occurrence during the club's recent 10-year spell in League One.

The atmosphere at Holker Street is largely dependent on the mood of the Barrow supporters, with a trip to the Cumbrian ground a challenge for many visiting supporters, hence the 'middle of the road' rating from AI.

The stadium holds a capacity of 6,500 and saw an average gate of 3,381 last season, although that could be impacted by the loss of the Bluebirds' derbies against Carlisle United and Morecambe, with those matches the only occasions where the attendance surpassed 4,000.

16 Rodney Parade (5.5/10)

Next up is Rodney Parade with a score of 5.5/10, with the South Wales stadium best known for its recent atmospheres in the FA Cup, where Newport County have hosted some of the country's elite.

With an average attendance of 4,239 inside the 7,850-capacity stadium, it represents a respectable ranking for Exiles supporters, especially as the atmosphere can fluctuate as a result of the ground representing a long-distance trip for many opposition fanbases in the North.

15 Mornflake Stadium (5.5/10)

Crewe Alexandra's ground, the Mornflake Stadium, has also been scored 5.5/10, with the Cheshire outfit known to have a solid core of fans inside the 10,153-capacity stadium.

Of course, the atmosphere is likely to increase when facing off against sides such as Port Vale and Walsall, but AI also states that Crewe's reputation as a hotbed for young talents allows supporters to build up an even-greater connection with those representing the club on the pitch.
